Honda Activa 5G launched in India at Rs 54,325

The Activa comes with the LED headlamps with the position lights and new mobile charging socket facility under the seat.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today, has added a new member to its flagship Activa family in the country. Dubbed as the Activa 5G the scooter was first unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, in February. The Scotty comes at a price tag of Rs 54,325 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it features an improved design language in eight paint options – Yellow, Brown, Grey, Black, Silver, White, Red and Blue.


Starting with the features, at the front the Activa comes with the LED headlamps along with a position lights. The 2018 scooter spots the same digital-analogue speedometer same as the 4G model, however, the company has also added a new service due indicator. Other than this, the machine gets a new mobile charging socket facility under the seat.


Similar to the previous model, the new 5G is equipped with a BSIV based 109.12cc displacement, four strokes, fan-cooled engine. Which is capable of producing maximum power of 8 Bhp at 7500 rpm with 9 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm, and mated to a V-Matic transmission. The Activa 5G promises to deliver 60+ kmpl with 5.3-liter of fuel tank capacity.


The Activa bears 18 litres of storage under the seat, it comes with the Honda’s combined braking system (CBS) with the 130mm wide drum brakes at both the ends. The tyres on the new Activa 5G are 10-inch wheels with 90/100 tubeless tyres.


Meanwhile, the company has also introduced the 160cc street racer, XBlade (Pictures) in India for Rs 78,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is approximately Rs 4,000 cheaper than the Honda CB Hornet 160R, but with same engine specification. The machine is powered by a single cylinder, air-cooled engine with the displacement of 162.7cc. It is based on the Honda Eco Technology (HET), which is capable of generating maximum power of 13.9 hp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 13.9 Nm at 6000 rpm. The bike is mated to a five-speed transmission.
