Best Adventure Games for Android 2017
Adventure Games are among the most unique of any games. They don’t fit into any one category or genre and often times they’ll fit into several genres at once. The only real prerequisite for a game to be an adventure game is that it must take you on an adventure. If you’re ready for a list of games that will do just that, here are picks for the best adventure games on Android!
Crashland is already among the best adventure games released in 2016. In this one, you play as a space trucker named Flux who crash lands and gets stranded on an alien planet. Your job is to retrieve your cargo, build yourself a base, fight bad guys, and save the world. It has a lot of game elements, including crafting, combat, RPG-style character leveling, and you can even tame creatures to fight for your side. It’s a deep game with a ton of content that you can play on both mobile and PC. It’s 4.8 rating on Google Play is well earned.
Probably one of the best adventure games out there. Cryptic Labyrinth is a game which will play with your mind and test your problem solving skills. You will be locked in a creepy room and there is only one exit to leave the room which is right in from of you. How to exit? Well, that’s the game. It is a step-by-step game with reality-based graphics which will help you to unlock the door and go towards the next level.
Ones with the heart problems should probably stay away from this. It is a horror game in which a tourist is staying in a haunted hotel and hears weird voices. Get the game and help the tourist with his curiosity.

Dead Effect 2 is a sci-fi FPS game with a dark storyline and fantastic graphics. This game boasts a 20-hour campaign mode along with an additional ten hours worth of side quests to keep you entertained. You’ll fight a variety of bad guys from mutated monsters to technologically enhanced aliens while your character levels up, gains new skills, and finds new gear that you can upgrade. It also has controller support, tons of achievements, and more. It’s a freemium game which means you’ll be pestered to buy stuff from time to time, but aside from that, this has earned its mark among the best adventure games out there.
Doom and Destiny Advanced is a jRPG style game where you form a party of adventurers, fight monsters, and save the world. Unlike most, this one doesn’t take itself too seriously and you’ll be greeted with quirky, humorous dialogue and situations that you must get yourself out of. The game boasts dozens of hours of storyline, 500 places to explore, 15 character classes, 22 character outfits, tons of bad guys, 150 special powers, and more. There is also online play supported for both PvP and co-op so you can play online with or against friends. It’s inexpensive and there’s a ton of adventuring to do!

Limbo is a puzzle-adventure game where you play as a little boy who has traveled to Limbo (roll credits) to save his little sister. The game is a 2D puzzler with a unique monochrome style and some fairly engaging puzzles to solve. The game has no qualms with killing your character off whenever it can and the uninitiated should plan on dying a few times to figure out how the puzzles work. It’s a tad short and most playthroughs can get it done in about five to six hours, but you can try it before you buy it to see if it’s something you want to experience. Another shorter, but amazing adventure-puzzler is Monument Valley. If you end up liking Limbo, we highly recommend you try Monument Valley as well.
Out There is a sci-fi survival story about an astronaut that wakes up from cryogenic sleep in some mysterious part of the galaxy. Your job is to survive in the harshness of space, make friends with alien species, fix and enhance your ship, and there is a storyline that you play through. It’s a difficult game and one that will have you scratching your head and thinking tactically in order to survive. The game also comes with 59 achievements, a leaderboard, over 350 decisions that you’ll have to make, a crafting system, and, oddly, no combat. It’s one of the more underrated adventure games out there.
Secret of Mana is an action-RPG style game that was originally released in the early 1990’s. It’s known for being easily accessible by both beginners and experts in the genre and employs a unique menu system, touch controls that are well done, and a pretty decent storyline. The premise is that you and your friends will battle the empire for control of the all powerful Mana. It’s a fun little game although it does run a little bit expensive. Square Enix has re-released a lot of their earlier titles and most of them make for excellent adventure games. You can check those out here.
Shadowgun is another sci-fi FPS game. This one has been around for a while and helped shape what a shooter should be like on Android and it remains one of the best FPS games to date. In this one, you play as a bounty hunter and you’re to hunt down Dr. Edgar Storm before he can wreak havoc everywhere. It features a campaign mode, tons of weapons and upgrades to find and equip, and some pretty decent graphics. There is also an online multiplayer component that you can download separately called Shadowgun DeadZone.
Telltale Games have released a number of episodic adventures and they’re all pretty good. Currently, there are seven games in their lineup with more coming sooner or later. Each game gives you the first episode when you download it and you’ll have to purchase the other episodes as in-app purchases. Several of them are free to start, including Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2, Tales from the Borderlands, and The Wolf Among Us. Each game has puzzle and adventure elements with fleshed out storylines and decent graphics. They’re all fairly excellent adventure games and worth a download.
