Speaker: Angelica Valentine, Marketing Manager at Wiser, Melissa Santiago, Social Media & Content Strategist at Muh-tay-zik| Hof-fer, and Stephanie Lottridge, Inbound Marketing Manager for Hearst Bay Area

In this Q&A session with BAVC’s Workforce Development Lead, Annie Tahtinen, we’ll hear from Angelica Valentine, Marketing Manager at Wiser, Melissa Santiago, Social Media & Content Strategist at Muh-tay-zik| Hof-fer, and Stephanie Lottridge, Inbound Marketing Manager for Hearst Bay Area about careers in digital marketing.

Angelica Valentine, Wiser
Angelica Valentine is the Marketing Manager at Wiser, an omnichannel retail solutions provider. She is also a content strategist and writer for global technology companies, such as Proto.io, Homebase, and SAP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. When she isn’t busy writing, this Oakland native can be found exploring music, food, and culture around the world.

Melissa Santiago, MUH-TAY-ZIK |HOF-FER
Melissa has been fascinated with social media since its first incarnation in 1997 when her typing skills were remarkably improved by endless chat binges on AOL Instant Messenger. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University and began work as a commercial photographer immediately after. She eventually managed to wrangle all of her social media prowess into getting paid to represent brands online (much to her mother’s surprise, who still asks, “what is a twitter?”). Her social media career began with managing banner ads for a magazine website, she moved on to creating social media accounts for a small photography business, and is currently with MUH-TAY-ZIK |HOF-FER as a Social Media and Content Strategist where she works on globally recognized brands — Netflix, Audi, method Home, Lyft, Hulu, and more. She is also a part-time instructor at Miami Ad School. Her favorite food is coffee and not unlike her pug, her energy level is either unstoppably excited or nap time — with very little range in between.

Stephanie Lottridge, Hearst Bay Area
Stephanie moved to the Bay Area from Wyoming in 2005 to attend the University of San Francisco. Her initial interest in digital marketing sparked during her study abroad experience in Copenhagen, Denmark where she studied Communication and Mass Media. A class trip to Ogilvy and Mather headquarters in Paris ignited her fascination in creating compelling stories that connect brands with their target audience. After graduating college in 2009, she took a marketing internship at a local snowboarding outwear company and pursued her career from there taking her first major step into the digital marketing world at an email marketing company called VerticalResponse. After focusing on partner and retention marketing strategies at VR, she moved on to a social networking company called SKOUT where she managed the social media strategy. Today she is the Inbound Marketing Manager for Hearst Bay Area where she oversees brand development and content marketing strategies to attract B2B leads.
